Bajaj Auto Ltd is one of the largest two wheeler manufacturer in India and also the one of the largest two wheeler and three wheeler manufacturers in the world. Rajasthani merchant Jamnalal Bajaj was founded the Bajaj Auto in 1945. From 1959, the company started manufacturing the two wheelers in India. The company had started producing scooters in the year 1961 and followed three-wheelers production in 1962. Its association with Piaggio expired in 1971 and since then, their scooters and three-wheelers are being sold with the brand name "BAJAJ". Bajaj Auto had rolled out their 100,000th vehicle by the year 1970. In 1987, Bajaj Auto had planned to manufacture three wheelers. Motorcycle had manufactured from 1991. Bajaj Auto has three manufacturing divisions in the country at Akurdi, Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra, western India, which has produced 1,814,799 vehicles in 2004-05.

Bajaj Auto also has a technical tied up with Kawasaki heavy industries of Japan to manufacture the modern motorcycles in India which are of world class quality. Bajaj Auto also tied up with Allianz group to provide to customer Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. Second largest bike manufacturer of India, the Bajaj Auto Ltd has announced to launch its concept car by 2010. This small concept car has designed in association with Renault and Nissan but it will not be cost for Rs 1 lakh. Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj said that the focuses are on performance of the car rather than cost. Today company has become the high in market with annual production of 1.35 million units.
